Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Mondrus Computer Consulting Services Inc. ("Mondrus", "we", "us", "our"), the publisher of Spectr, collects when you use the Spectr mobile apps for iOS and Android (the "Apps") and the website spectr.app (together, the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices and rights you have.
Spectr is a photo editor with filters, overlays and presets for Adobe Lightroom. The Service does not require an account. Your photos and videos are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Mondrus Computer Consulting Services Inc., a company incorporated in the State of New York, United States. You can contact us about privacy at any time at spectr.support@garny.io.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide to us
- Support requests. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, name (if included), the content of your message and any attachments. Emails sent from the in-app feedback form also include your device model, operating system version, app version and an anonymous app user ID, so we can help you faster.
2.2 Photos and videos
If you grant access, the Apps read photos and videos from your device's library so you can apply filters, overlays and presets, and save your edited photos and preset files back to your library. All editing, including features that analyze an image (for example, to place an overlay), happens on your device. Your photos and videos are not uploaded to our servers and are not shared with third parties.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: device model, operating system and version, app version, language, country/region, time zone, IP address and approximate location (country or city) derived from it. We do not request access to your device's precise location.
- Identifiers: app-instance and installation identifiers (e.g., Firebase installation ID, Apple Identifier for Vendors, Android ID), an anonymous app user ID, push notification token, and — only where permitted (see Section 4) — advertising identifiers (Apple IDFA or Google Android Advertising ID).
- Usage data: which screens, filters and presets you use, in-app events, session length, and interaction with ads and subscription offers.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data (e.g., app start time, network request timing).
2.4 Content requests
To show and download presets, the Apps request preset catalogs and files from our servers (hosted on Google Firebase). These requests contain the ID of the requested preset and standard technical data, such as your IP address. They do not include your photos.
2.5 Purchases
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive your payment card or billing details. We receive information about the transaction itself (product, purchase date, subscription status, renewal and expiration dates, country) to provide access to premium features.
2.6 Install attribution
To understand which of our marketing campaigns lead to installs, the iOS App may request an attribution token from Apple (Apple Search Ads / AdServices), and the Android App may receive install referrer information from Google Play. The result contains campaign information only and does not identify you personally. The Apps may also use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram (see Section 4).
3. How we use your information
- To provide the Service and its features, including filters, overlays and preset downloads.
- To provide and manage subscriptions and lifetime purchases, and to restore purchases.
- To send push notifications you have allowed (e.g., about new presets or special offers). You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.
- To display ads to users of the free version and to measure their effectiveness.
- To measure the effectiveness of our own marketing campaigns.
- To analyze usage, fix bugs and crashes, and improve and develop the Service.
- To test new features and configurations (via remote configuration).
- To respond to your support requests.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms of Use and comply with legal obligations.
4. Advertising and tracking
The free version of the Apps shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. The Apps may also use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure installs and in-app events resulting from our ads on Facebook and Instagram.
- iOS: we access your IDFA and show personalized ads only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do not allow tracking, the Meta SDK (where used) does not use your IDFA. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: we ask for your consent via Google's consent form before personal data is used for personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time in the App under Settings → Personal Data → Allow use of personal data. If you do not consent, you may see non-personalized ads, which still use limited data (e.g., for frequency capping and fraud prevention).

5. Service providers we share data with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with the following providers, who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging) | Analytics, crash reporting, performance, feature configuration, push notifications | Device and app info, identifiers, usage and diagnostic data, push token |
| Google Firebase (Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage) | Hosting and delivering preset catalogs and files | Preset IDs requested, IP address |
| Meta Platforms (Facebook SDK), where used | Measuring the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram | Device info, app events (such as installs and purchases), advertising ID (where permitted) |
| Google AdMob | Advertising in the free version, consent management | Device info, IP address, advertising ID (with permission), ad interactions, consent choices |
| Apple / Google Play | App distribution, payments, subscriptions, install attribution | Purchase and subscription information, attribution token |
We may also disclose information (a) if required by law or a valid request from public authorities; (b) to protect our rights, users' safety, or to investigate fraud; or (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service and features you request, including preset downloads and subscriptions.
- Consent — for personalized advertising, tracking, push notifications and access to your photos. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for analytics, crash reporting, measuring our marketing campaigns, security, fraud prevention and improving the Service.
- Legal obligation — for keeping transaction records and responding to lawful requests.
7. International transfers
Our service providers may process your information in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses used by our providers.
8. Data retention
- Photos, videos and edits stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Analytics and diagnostic data are kept for up to 14 months in Google Analytics for Firebase and for up to 90 days in Crashlytics, and afterwards may be kept only in aggregated form.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and for up to 3 years afterwards.
- Transaction records are kept as long as required by applicable law.
9. Your rights and choices
Everyone
- Deny or revoke access to photos and notifications in your device settings.
- Limit ad tracking as described in Section 4.
- Stop all data collection by the App by uninstalling it.
EEA, UK and Switzerland
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California and other US states
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money; however, the use of advertising identifiers by ad networks may be considered "sharing". You can opt out by disabling tracking on iOS, deleting or resetting your Advertising ID on Android, or contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents may also request information once a year about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes (California "Shine the Light" law).
How to exercise your rights
Email us at spectr.support@garny.io. We will respond within 30 days (or within the period required by applicable law). We may need to verify your request. Because the Service does not use accounts and your photos stay on your device, we may ask for additional details (for example, the app user ID shown in support emails, your device model and approximate dates of use) to locate data held by our providers.
10. Deleting your data
- Delete all local data: uninstall the App. Photos and preset files you saved to your photo library stay there until you delete them.
- Data held by us or our providers: email spectr.support@garny.io with the subject "Data deletion request". We will delete the data we hold about you and confirm when it is done.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at spectr.support@garny.io and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all network requests. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Links to other websites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services (for example, our other apps in the App Store) that we do not control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their privacy policies.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we will notify you in the App before they take effect.
